hello i've got a question i conect the wamp and the others type my ip to connect to the server. how can i change my ip with a name? can i do that? ex: people are typeing [80.96.112.143] to be replaced by a name like blu3m3 or something else but not the ip. thx

first of all you must buy a domain and you change it's nameserver 's name
second your ip must be static

Agree w/ the first, but what's up w/ the rest? My ip is dynamic and my computer's name differs from my domain which I've bought from Yahoo Business for $15 for 5yrs ($3/yr), yet people all over the world still can access all my sites as seen in my signatture

Actually, I'm in the progress to post a easy how-to guide on my site; however, it takes much longer time than I thought and it's not a good impression if I keep saying this to people, but they never actually see it done, so sorry for no promise here

Hey if it's ok for me to chime in, i've learned some stuff. Don't go spend money on them dynamic dns, just by a domain and check your external router ip address and change it in the domain place. In the domain you can add and remove and edit hosts, and if you change it there it'll be resolvable. Now the reason i say to do that is cuz not all isps do that these days, it's a hassle to do that. But in either case your doing development and wamp is for development, when your ready to do business from then you may wanna do that, but as yfatstd told me, and it is great advice, first figure out network security, speaking of which hey yfatstd you got any websites or books to teach me that stuff?
