Much more than you thought. Better save your data to somewhere else, then uninstall and reinstall wamp w/ new document root, restore your data to new location after that.

Have fun

I don't think you need to re-install. just change your document root in http.config and have it point to a new directory in your second hard drive.

I have done that before and it worked for me.

Cheers,

So did you try it w/ all kinds of saved databases, too? I doubt it.

That shouldn't be an issue either. Just edit the mysql configuration file so that "datadir" points to the data on the new drive. grinning smiley

*you'll wanna shutdown MySql and then copy the the ..wamp/mysql/data directory to where-ever. Then edit the my.ini file and change the datadir path to point to the new location... Then of course start mySql back up... This is of course only if you have databases that you want to move... You'd also have to edit the httpd.conf file as mentioned above.

How about postgresql, sqlite, so on... Consider people when posting question, they're either completely newbie or good programmer but new to wampserver, they might have no clue what suppose to do and they might use different kind of db, too; that's why in my first reply, I've already mention it's more complicated than just simple moving folder.

Well, technically, I am new to WAMP myself.. This is the WAMP forum though, and WAMP comes with MySQL, not Oracle, not MSSQL, and not postgresql. If they happen to be using SQLite, then they should have a good idea where the file is located. Or, if they happen to be using postgresql then they probably are not complete newbies... You're very correct about it be more complicated than simply moving the installation directory. Although, if someone had many databases, then it would be more of a hassle for them to uninstall and reinstall completely. They would have to make backups and then restore the database from those backups. That's just my take on the thing...

Already mention it in first reply. Also, had it in backup section in my old post here

[forum.wampserver.com]

However; later on, I'm testing some other kind of database and find out that method can't be used for all kind of db, so what I'm trying to say that while some people can find a way to work around, but most people don't; however, a post in the forums is viewable by everybody, so my suggestion is not just for 1 particular person but for every one, no matter he's a complete noob or very good programmer but new to wampserver.
