hi everyone!

I just downloaded WAMP.. and I'm trying to open the installation file.. but i keep getting this error.. "Sorry, Mysql is already installed on your system. Please remove it before installing WAMP"

Previously.. I've tried XAMPP.. and Also Uniform Server.. But i uninstalled them both.. I can't seem to even get to the installation part of it.. because of that error message!

I read the FAQ.. and searched my registry for Wampmysqld first.. then i searched for just mysqld.. I didn't find anything that came close to that!

Someone help! Please!

Do a regclean after you have uninstall.
I have EasyPHP installed and when i installed WAMP it don't start. I have to do a regclean before reinstalling to get it work.

Bah - regclean... lol

Drop down to the command prompt and type

mysqld --remove

This will remove the service from the queue. Reinstall MySQL - you should be okay.

Command prompt.. my worst enemy.. lol

I typed "mysqld --remove" just as you said to.. and i got this error message back..
" 'mysqld' is not recognised as a internal or external command, operable program or batch file. "

Is there something else i'm suppose to do as well?

~ Also.. for "regclean".. I think it stands for "Registry Clean".. but how do i do that?
Am i suppose to use some Registry cleaner program for that?

I did .. You mean this bit?

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Q: MySQL/Apache won't install as a Service.

A: This might be due to a borked install, or multiple installs in the attempt to get it working. STOP installing itself - you're not going to make it work by brute force. Drop to your command prompt and type <servicename> -remove (For Apache, type apache -remove for MySQL type mysql -remove

This will REMOVE either Service from the queue. Next, uninstall said Service with it's uninstaller - DO NOT just yank the folder out. Take a deep breath and reinstall your Service as normal. This should be your golden ticket.

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

That's the problem.. I did that command prompt thing.. and it gives me this message:

" 'mysqld' is not recognised as a internal or external command, operable program or batch file. "

.. So.. How am i suppose to remove it .. when it doesn't even understand what i'm trying to tell it to do..
