WampServer

I've installed and the site is up and running on 8080. No problems. However when I try to set up phpbb it won't let me because I need to create a new sql database and user. I try to go into phpmyadmin http:\\localhost\phpmyadmin and it goes to page cannot be displayed. How can i install if I cannot create a db or user?

you should go to [localhost] first then access phpmyadmin from there instead go straight to [localhost]

Sorry, [localhost] is what I meant. I can't get to it. I tried to edit the config.ini.php file, but cannot get it to work with that either

Your problem is you forget to add an slash after phpmyadmin. Try using this

[localhost]

You have add a slash because phpmyadmin is defined as an alias. but if you copy paste it under your www directory you can reach it by writing [localhost] too.

A simpler way is to use wamp's menu, top of it there is phpmyadmin section where you can use.

delete the alias and add it again.
the problem was in my computer too, i did that and now it all OK

Where do you delete the alias? httpd.config? What alias?

In the same computer that has wampserver installed or on another computer in the same network?

Same wampserver is installed. I tried [127.0.0.1], without the 8080, [localhost] and without the 8080. I can't view locally on the server. But my site is viewable publicly
