Problem with images on localhost

I have tryed to search up this problem but have turned up no results. I ~Think~ it may be something wrong with the wamp server but not exactly sure. But i seem to be haveing a problem where when i load images on my local host through a htm/html/php file, the image appears to be half broken. In a better discription half the image loads and then a grey box covers the lower half. When i move these documents to the live server they display fine. Any help will be apperciated and/or a link to related topics if they exist. Thanks smiling smiley

Did you enable gd through tray icon? Also check your code to make sure it works w/ wampserver since different server has different setup.

I personally don't enable it because I don't use any gd function and my images still work fine as seen here

And for a better view of the problem i have printscreen an image and uploaded it to a image hosting website as well.

I have done some further Testing and if i take the files out of the www.directory or just simply turn off wamp the image displays fine, but then none of my php code works ;/

And the code im useing to load the image would be as this:

<img src="images/picture.jpg" />

Nothing crazy id say smiling smiley.

If I don't remember wrong that someone else in this forum has the same problem and later he found out that his ip optimizer application or some other application cause the problem. My computer has only 3 applications: Windows, McAffee, and Wampserver, of course beside my add-on mail server, ftp server, forum , joomla, so on.

Edit: I shut down my computer now for maintenance, but will be back on later today.

Well im currently at work now but- what would be some examples of a ip optimizer application. Most times my pc is only running Windows, McAffee, wampserver and winamp(music application). I do have other apps that do run once i start them, but nothing i would think that would mess with anything like this. And thanks for the help btw smiling smiley

I don't use any so not sure but guess some kind of apps to improve internet speed/performance or something like that

So you did install them in your computer and never know if it might be conflict or not

Anyway, if you only use that simple code, you don't need to enable gd, but might try to increase run time to see if it's better.

Hi, I read a previous post here just a few days ago in which the same problem was caused by something listening on port 80, like some other server software or FTP or something.

Once, for a few minutes, I was not seeing any images at all. But I restarted FireFox and WAMP and things were normal again.

What all have you changed? Did you modify any INI files? Did you install the Zend Optimizer? Did you update Apache or anything? Something has to be the culprit. Good luck.

Oh no, don't get me wrong. What I was saying that he found out some apps that caused a problem in his unit, but yours might be different. Better if you check to make sure.
