GD library missing

I have installed wamp on windows XP and cannot access the gd functions. When i go to phpinfo () gd appears to be quite missing from the list.
Help!! I love wamp and its useability, and this has worked just great in the past. I had to reinstall because of a hard drive failure and ever since I can't acces createimagefromjpeg and similar GD functions.

OK ... I'm an idiot and should have checked this forum for answers.
Apparently one has to enable GD2 from the system tray icon as a php extension.
