Optional MySQL install?

I already have a MySQL server running, and i am worried that if i install WAMP, that it will mess up the server that I already have. I think in the next release, there should be a "custom install" option where you can choose which services to install (apache and/or MySQL)

Just a thought.

you can still install wamp with both apache and mysql. just dont install it as a service so you can start and stop apache and mysql manually. that way you can start apache and which ever install of mysql you wish to use.

ok i have successfully installed it and here is what I did:

when it was extracting the files, as soon as it finished the "MySQL" folder, i deleted the folder itself. After i clicked "finish", it added a few more files and a new MySQL folder, so i just deleted that.

I started up WAMP and saw that there was no service.

Im not sure this was the best way to do it but it works. Thanks
