Wamp5 and Joomla 1.5

I'm trying to use Wamp with Joomla 1.5 on Windows XP.

When I create new articles in Joomla I get an error:
"Catchable fatal error: Object of class JDatabaseMySQL could not be converted to string in C:\Documents and Settings\jb\My Documents\wamp\www\testbed\libraries\joomla\database\table.php on line 678"

According to the forums on joomla.org this may be due to the version of PHP installed.

I have Wamp5 v1.6.6 including PHP 5.2.0, and Joomla 1.5 Beta [Khepri]

Does anyone know a fix, or else how do I replace PHP with an earlier version?

Thanks in advance!

ps I tried installing Wamp5 v 1.6.5 instead and dont get this error.

I would like to be able to use the latest version!

Hey jbudd,

Not really sure, about what is going on there, maybe its the pathing, might want to try it in just C:\wamp

I did how ever install WAMP 1.6.6 from [www.wampserver.com] this site here and I used the stable version of Joomla [www.joomla.org] here.

Everything worked great and i was up in joomla in around 5 minutes.

Now i need to learn how to get around in Joomla

hope this helps some.

Thanks for the suggestion LogicBox.

I tried installing another copy of wamp5 1.6.6 to c:\wamp - same result.

I havent tried Joomla 1.0.11 with wamp - i use JSAS for that. I loaded Wamp specifically as an environment to test Joomla 1.5.

make sure you uninstall your old copy of wamp before installing a new one.
