Can anyone exactly tell me how to install imagemagick so I can run a photoalbum on my site? I've downloaded [www.imagemagick.org] and ran the exe, but I don't know how to configure it to work with my webserver. Thanks.

Also, I've tried to use phpinfo, but it won't show up, but PHP seems to be working properly. Thanks.

you need to install the imagemagick library yourself,of course itll go into your program files once you run it and it finnishes installing, then edit your php.ini file (youll find this on the wamp control config files--->php.ini), once you open it up in wordpad or notepad you will find this line:

;extension=php_imagick.dll (itll look like this)
extension=php_imagick.dll (now itll look like this with this taken off > ; < )

this is to enable that extension, , and then restart apache for your new setting to take effect.
that should work !

I've set the php.ini file to allow the extension=imagick.dll to work, have installed imagemagick in c:/Program Files, yet receive the following error in php error file:
[22-May-2007 20:51:43] PHP Warning: PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library 'c:/wamp/php/ext/php_imagick.dll' - The specified procedure could not be found.

for extension activate in php.ini the line is :
extension=php_imagick.dll
and copy the file php_imagick.dll from your folder in program files
to the directory in : c:/wamp/php/ext/php_imagick.dll

Thanks for the prompt response, however, the file, php_imagick.dll (57kb) already exists in c:/wamp/php/ext and does not exist in the program files folder. I've double-checked the php.ini file and the line

extension=php_imagick.dll

is there. I've tried turning other extensions on and off and that appears to work correctly. I've tried reinstalling and keep getting the same results. Any other thoughts?
Thanks,

Thanks for the suggestions, but I'm still stuck. I tried copying php_imagick.dll into c:\windows\system32 and that didn't help. I also looked at the forum post you recommended and see where that the user was having trouble with his installation and ImageMagick was not running and the recommendation to rename compare.exe to imcompare.exe was to resolve a conflict with Windows that prevented IM from running . That is not the case here, I can run ImageMagick as independently from Windows or the command line, but the extension won't load when trying to run as part of a PHP application.

On a previous computer, I ran ImageMagick under XAMPP and had no troubles. This machine's OS is Vista and I'm wondering if there's anything special I need to do to get this working.
thanks again for your help,
