IIS conflict

Ok been advised to uninstall WAMP before disabling IIS server as Im running XP then reinstall WAMP.

this is great but one thing *goes bright red* how do I turn off IIS (disable it that is).

could some one let me know as Im realy new at all this thanks in advance.

alternate quick solution:

- edit the server config so that the server will install onto port 8080 or alikes
- stop and start the server.
- use [127.0.0.1] for your testing.

1) open the Services console (Start-->Run-->type 'services.msc' and hit enter)
2) scroll to the service named "IIS Admin" and double click it
3) select Disabled from the Startup Type dropdown list and press Ok
4) right click on the IIS Admin and select stop
5) confirm the stop verification

the IIS will never run again smiling smiley
