Hey guys, newbie here needing serious help. I run windows XP pro that has the IIS 5.1 server. I have installed php5 in its own directory c:\PHP and I installed mySql5.1 using the installer. NOW WHAT? I have downloaded and unzipped phpmyadmin in its own file and not sure what to do? What does WAMP help you do anyway? I need a testing server so I can publish a shopping cart built in flash.

Anyhelp is greatly appreciated.

wamp is a web development package consiting of a webserver (apache) a database server (mysql) and a web development langauage php. since you already have a webserver iis, you just need to install and configure php and mysql for iis.

if you are not a server guru, and dont wont to bother with installing and configuring everyting yourself, you can just disable iis and just install wamp and you are ready to go. once wamp is installed there is nothing else you need to configure to get it to work.

Get rid of the IIS my friend. You will have a lot better results running apache built in with WAMP.
