Online / Offline switch?

Hey guys, I reay like this server. I have been running EasyPHP and its so slow and OLD!!!

Anyway, Whats the "Put Online / Put Offline" switch for?
If my services are running I can access the server from the net so why would I need to "Put Online"?

for security. no reason to allow others to access wamp if you are just using for local testing and developent
