MySQL root password

Hello all.

I am using WAMP for a web programming assignment, and one of the requirements is that the MySQL root password be set to "web."

From what I have read on other sites, the default install of MySQL has no password set for the root account.

Will setting a password for root in MySQL break anything else used by WAMP? Any caveats I should be aware of?

Thank you.
