Dear helpers!

I have installed Wamp5, before that I tried to use Xampp. And there is still problem with phpMyAdmin.
1. I see following error: MySQL not launched or bad phpmyadmin config
2. I have installed MySql Administrator and there everything looks OK: wamomysql Service is running. user:root passwordno pasword)
3. When I try to make some database, error: Warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Can't connect to MySQL server on 'localhost' (10061)
4. config.inc.php:
$cfg['Servers'][$i]['auth_type'] = 'http'; // Authentication method (config, http or cookie based)?
$cfg['Servers'][$i]['user'] = 'root'; // MySQL user
$cfg['Servers'][$i]['password'] = '';
5. When I trie to connect phpmyadmin it asks user and password, I entered user: root and password: blank.
6. System Windows XP Profesional SP1.


I was searching google for many hours and without results..

Did you perform clean registry after uninstall xamp? If not, try it.
If still have same problem, don't be mad at me but here is the quickest solution: backup all your data, re-format hd and install win, or use different hd w/ clean win install, then wamp.

Edit: Oh, I'm sorry, to clean registry for xamp, you might have to find the answer in xamp web site because it might not the same as wamp.
