WampServer

Hi,

I have just started learning about PEAR and would like to use the database package. Is PEAR already installed with wamp or do i have to download it?

Any info would be great.

yes, just launch the go-pear.bat like you would do with a manuyal install

Hi all, I am also facing the same problem that onemind was facing but I didn't find the file go-pear.bat. Rather, I found a file called go-pear.phar which I have no idea on how to use. I tried to install pear by saving this url:
[go-pear.org]
as go-pear.php in the www directory. I tried to run that file to install the pear pakage but the installtion process always fails.

Any idea or hint would be really appreciated.

pears bundle is in php4 instead php. check it out.

Thank you yfastud for your help but it seems that I didn't understand you quite well. Do you mean that i have to install php4 instead of php5 in my Wampserver ? Or do you mean that there is a folder called php4 where I can find pears bundle that I can install ? I tried to find such a folder but I failed. I just found a folder called pear inseide php folder . That folder just contains the go-pear.phar file that I mentioned above.

Let me make it clear. PEAR package is inside wamp/php4.

that is not how you do it, here is the the correct way

to setup pear for php5,click on:
C:\wamp\php\go-pear.bat

if you have the php4 addon and want to setup pear for php4 click on
C:\wamp\php4\go-pear.bat

yfastud and CyberSpatium, thank you very much for making it clear. The problem now is that I have installed a new version of Wamp that has php5 not php4. I only have the following file :

c:\wamp\php\go-pear.phar , I do not have a file called go-pear.bat. I tried to change the extension but this did not work.

Any idea about how to get the .bat file or about how to use the .phar file ??

go-pear.phar sits in c:\wamp\php\PEAR folder.
Go to c:\wamp\php instead where you'll find go-pear.bat.
I've just installed latest wamp package and got go-pear.bat in php folder.
