Localhost doesn't open - download file instead

Hi,
I think i installed something that modified a config file but i dont know what. When i click on the wamp icon and then click localhost, the wamp page with a directory list used to come up in IE but now i just get a download file box. If i download the file, the file is called "localhost" with no extension.
Sorry if that was confusing, basically local host downloads a file instead of going to the wamp index file.
Anyone know how to fix this?

Check if mistake moved index.php outside www folder?

what does your apache error log say?
