WampServer

I have just installed the update to Apache 2.4.66.1 and it installed without any issues; I'm running Wampserver 3.4.0 and I have the correct up-to-date C++ redistributable packages. However, when I restarted WAMP there was no option to switch Apache to 2.4.66.1 from 2.4.66. Is this a new thing that minor versions now seamlessly integrate or has something gone wrong?

Just to clarify with the previous post, when I left clicked and went to Apache -> Version, 2.4.66.1 was not listed among the installed version. I even completely exited WAMP and restarted, but 2.4.66.1 was still not listed.

When I tried to re-install 2.4.66.1 it told me that it was already installed.

However, I finally managed to get it working. Unless something glitched on my machine, it's possible that there may be a bug WAMP server 3.4.0. I tried to switch Apache to 2.4.65, thinking if I downgraded first, it might then let me switch to 2.4.66.1, but it refused to change versions. I restarted services, but it seemed to be locked in to 2.4.66. So I completely exited WAMP and when I restarted it was in 2.4.65, but this time 2.4.66.1 was now listed among the versions. So I switched to 2.4.66.1 and I set Yes to the appropriate line copies. But when it started, it told me that localhost was not set (or something similar). When I looked in http-vhosts.conf for 2.4.66.1 it was some generic file that clearly wasn't going to work. WAMP told me a copy was in the new folder. It wasn't. So after copying the contents of my previous version of this file from 2.4.66 it seems to be holding together.

The only difference between Apache 2.4.66 and 2.4.66.1 is that version 2.4.66.1 is compiled with VS18 and CMAKE.

This new compilation had a few issues, for example C:/Apache24 instead of ${SRVROOT} in some *.conf files.

This has been corrected by Apache Lounge, without changing the version number.

I have therefore recompiled an Apache 2.4.66.1 installer without changing the version number.

You may have downloaded Apache 2.4.66.1 before the changes were made.

That's possible and sorry about the long rambling post. I just thought it might be useful for others if they have a similar issue, but it sounds like you have solved the underlying issue.
