wamp server tray icon: left or right click does nothing

Hello,

I've installed the WAMP server on my W11 client machine.
I am running 24H2, build number 26100.7462.
I've complied wiith all the requirements, meaning all VC++ packages.
The wamp server was installed successfully.
When I start it, i gives me a green tray icon, and tell me all; services are running.
However, I cannot do anything.
Any help would be much appreciated!

greetings

jakesully.

Hi,

Do you use third-party antivirus software?

Hi,

You may try updating Tray Menu Manager.
https://wampserver.aviatechno.net/files/aetray/traymenumanager3.2.7.4.exe

But I doubt that will fix the problem!
Maximus23, the creator of Tray Menu Manager, and I have never been able to reproduce the fault.

In my humble opinion, there is "something" extra or missing in Windows.

Hi,

Are you logged in as an administrator?
Have you installed Wampserver as an administrator?

Check for any errors in the Event Viewer.

One of the VC++ packages i cannot install (vcredist_2008_sp1_mfc_x86), and noticed that about in in the eventViewer:

Product: Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable - x86 9.0.30729.6161 -- Error 1935.An error occurred during the installation of assembly 'Microsoft.VC90.MFC,version="9.0.30729.6161",publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",processorArchitecture="x86",type="win32"'. Please refer to Help and Support for more information. HRESULT: 0x80070091. assembly interface: IAssemblyCacheItem, function: Commit, component: {106BBB06-46FA-3230-8A99-836161C13A0C}

Another one (vcredist_2008_x86) gives me an error popup "install.res????.dll".
These are 32biit packages, could be a reason?

Yes I installed the WAMP as admiinistrator.

Thanks for the help!

Hi,

VC 2008 (VC9) is required for PHP 5.3 and 5.4.

You may use Visual C++ Redistributable Runtimes All-in-One

Hi,

You have a problem with the system.
In a command window "as administrator," type:
sfc /verifyonly
which will tell you if there are any problematic files.
If so, repair the files with the command:
sfc /scannow

Are you using third-party antivirus software?

Hi,

I have a similar issue.

Freshly installed Windows Server 2025, fully updated and nothing else installed on it (no third-party antivirus).
The WampTrayIcon works fine after start, but does not respond to any click anymore (left or right) after some hours.
The only solution is a full restart of the whole server.

I tried starting it as a user and also with a task with highest privileges. Both have the same result.

Installed is the latest 3.4.0 release.

Nothing in the Event Viewer about the WAMPServer.

Hi,

I'm sorry, but I've never been able to reproduce this bug and I have no idea what could be causing this problem.
There will be an update to Tray Menu Manager soon, which may solve this problem.
