Thanks, webmasterinnj .

Where can I find the previous version of the tray menu? I have searched [wampserver.aviatechno.net] and can't see it listed.

I presume "vcredlist" is Visual C++ Redistributable Packages. If so, yes, I am fully up-to-date.

Hi,

In most cases, you cannot go back to an earlier version of Tray Menu Manager.
This is because some Wampserver upgrades go hand in hand with Tray Menu Manager upgrades.

Nevertheless, in the Wampserver installation folder, the replaced older versions of Tray Menu Manager are not deleted but renamed, for example :
wampmanager3.2.6.0.exe
wampmanager3.2.5.6.exe

What you can do is rename wampmanager.exe -> wampmanager3.2.6.1.exe then rename wampmanager3.2.5.6.exe -> wampmanager.exe

But without any guarantee of correct operation.

SUCCESS !!!!

Many thanks.

There was a little more to it, so for the benefit of anyone else with the same problem, this is what I did:

1) I downloaded and extracted wampmanager.exe3.2.6.0 using the link provided by webmasterinnj two posts up from this one and placed it in my main wamp folder.

2) I followed the instruction from Otomatic (one post up from here) to rename wampmanager.exe as wampmanager3.2.6.1.exe then rename wampmanager3.2.6.0.exe as wampmanager.exe.

3) Unfortunately, the tray still wasn't working, but I ran wampmanager.ini.repair (from [wampserver.aviatechno.net]) which got the tray working.

4) THEN I reversed step 2 so that wampmanager3.2.6.1.exe was now my wampmaneger.exe once again and it was all fine.

And, in case anyone is wondering, yes I HAD tried wampmanager.ini.repair previously on wampmanager.exe3.2.6.1 but without any success.

It's all a bit of a mystery to me, but I'm delighted to have got it all back as it should be.

Many thanks for the help and advice. Much appreciated.

Hi,

I'm very happy that it's working properly now, but I don't understand why and above all I don't see what the problem or defect was that was corrected.

I performed the same operations as you did 3.2.6.0, wampmanager ini repair, 3.2.6.1, etc., saving the wampmanager.ini file each time and then comparing the various wampmanager.ini files with each other.

Apart from the sizes of the different log files, there's no difference at all!

Weird, weird, how strange! *

Same problem here (never an issue w/ previous versions - 3.2.6 was the last one I was using - bad move on my part uninstalling it for this one). WampServer has always been so easy to use, but this bug is a real pain. Gotta give XAMPP a shot. I might try to reinstall the 3.2.6 if I don't like XAMPP.

I went for the easier route and reinstalled WampServer64 3.2.6 (still in the Downloads folder!) and the mouse click functionality is restored.

1 – Windows 11 64 bit - Canary build 27744
2 - Wampserver 3.3.6 - Tray Menu Manager 3.2.6.7
3 - Apache 2.4.59
4 - PHP 8.3.13
5 - MySQL 9.1.0
6 - WampServer icon Green
8 – I have access to localhost (Homepage WampServer)
9 – I have access to phpMyAdmin
12 - C:\wamp64\

Hello. I realize that I'm late to the party here, but I too have begun to notice this issue wherein after a period of time from starting up Wampserver initially right/left clicking the green icon works fine. However after a period of time (I haven't measured it, but I believe the time frame is less than 5 to 10 minutes), right/left clicking of the green icon does nothing, no menu's pop-up. Wampserver appears to be working fine, I'm able to bring up my localhost websites with no problems and everything works fine.

The only way I've found to get the right/left click operational again is to either restart my PC (which is really a PITA) or use a Task Manager replacement called System Explorer to restart the wampmanager.exe process. I've always thought that Microsoft's Task Manager is less than useless and started using System Explorer many years ago and as far as I can find, TM doesn't have the ability to restart a process.

I thought initially that this was probably a MS Windows 11 issue, since I recently ran into a major problem using my Norton's 360 wherein I end up getting a GSOD and the ONLY way to get back is by doing a complete reset of my PC (and that's on both my desktop and my laptop). However, seeing some of the other comments here, I see that someone still running Windows 10 is having the same issue, so my thoughts that it might be related to Microsoft may not be as accurate as I initally thought, though I still believe it's on their side since I haven't had this issue since I began using Windows 11 and Wampserver side-by-side years ago. I'm currently satisfied with just doing a wampmanager.exe restart via System Explorer.

Hi,

Wouldn't the problem be the use of third-party antivirus and antimalware or a screensaver other than Windows.

I leave Wampserver in operation from 8 a.m. to about 8 p.m. with many screen extinctions and I have never seen a no-response to left-click or right-click.
