Canot connect on alternate port setup

Hi, I have installed and operated a WAMP myself before.

I am testing WAMP5 due to the fact that it dramatically cuts down on the hassle of configuring each component seperately.

My problem is that I am trying to use a different port other than 80, I have set it in the httpd.conf as I usually do with Apache, then retstart services.

It works fine when configured for port 80 but no others, I have never had this problem before on self installed WAMPs.

what port did you set apache to? if you set it to port 555 for example, then you need to access it with your browser like this below, since you are no longer using the defautl apache port:
[localhost]
