WampServer

Aestan Tray freezes after many hours. It work fine after start, but later stops responding.

All services run fine, but Aestan Tray does not respond anymore.

I de-installed, downloaded the newest check_vcredist.exe, all good.

Reinstalled wampserver3.3.0_x64.exe (as admin), updated to 3.3.1.

Problem persists.

Any idea?

Also, while looking for a solution, is there a way to restart the tray only, so I don't have to always start all services?

PS: Can't wait to get 3.3.2 to start with the server.

Sometimes the tray runs fine for many hours.

When I double-click on the "W" symbol, I get to the Aestan Tray Menu. On "updates", I get the message:

You are using version 3.2.5.0.
Version 3.2.5.2 is available to download at the author's website.
Do you want to update your application now?

I don't understand.

I have a standard installation of WampServer that freezes. I have not changed or modified anything at all!

I do not have any autostart.

(I just wanted to point out that I am happy this will be possible in the future.)

I updated to version 3.2.5.2.

After I restarted the machine, the Wampserver was automatically started. Apache etc. are up - But I do not have a tray icon at all. Whatever I did, I can not get a tray icon, so I can not use any of the functions.


We are getting further away from my original problem, that I had an icon, but it did freeze and not react anymore after a while.

In the taskbar, see ^ Show hidden icons

Reinstall 3.2.5.2 with answer Yes to overwrite.

I will let you know if it is stable now.

The green tray symbol froze again. It worked for many hours, but now it does not respond anymore.

Apache, etc., run fine.

How do I restart without stopping Apache, SQL, etc.?

Restarting Aestan Tray Menu is equivalent to launching Wampserver.

Restart Wampserver by double-clicking the shortcut icon on the desktop, there is no other way.

I have no idea!

My PC is turned on around 8:30 in the morning and is systematically turned off around 7pm in the evening.

Maybe a screensaver or a third-party anti-virus other than Windows Defender.

I have played around with this during the last few days. No success. I have turned off pretty much everything else, but no change at all. Within a day, sometimes minutes, the tray freezes. No response anymore, not even
wampmanager.exe -quit

Any idea what I could try or test?

Willing to work on this.

Hi,

- Exit Wampserser even if with the Task Manager

- Reinstall all VC++ packages using the program indicated at the bottom of the page https://wampserver.aviatechno.net/ under the heading:
Best way to install Visual C++ Redistributable Packages
and run this utility as administrator, i.e. right-click on the downloaded executable file, then Run as administrator.

I have no anti-virus and/or anti-malware and/or anti-spyware software other than Windows Defender running.

Last week I made a fresh install of all VC++ packages and WampServer.

As you suggested, I now installed all VC++ packages again using: "Best way to install Visual C++ Redistributable Packages".

No change. The tray froze after a few hours.

As I said, I had already disabled almost everything else. This is a very stable machine that never had any problems!

And debugging that I can do?

Update to xDebug 3.1.6

If the problem persists and there's still something in the event viewer, disable xDebug for PHP 7.4.33 :
Left-click -> PHP -> PHP Configuration -> xDebug mode -> off
Left-click -> PHP -> PHP Extensions -> xDebug 3.1.6 to uncheck it
