WampServer

Hello, I am new to the forum, recently installing WAMP 3.3.0 on my Windows laptop. It included PHPMyAdmin 5.2.0.

After installing and firing up PHPMyAdmin, a message suggested I install PHPMyAdmin 5.2.1, which I did.

So far, I've had no problems so far with PHPMyAdmin, but I don't do anything more complex that use MariaDB for my WordPress sites that I've cloned to run on my laptop, that includes custom PHP application/MySQL database.

But I notice that WAMPSERVER homepage puts out this message:

PhpMyAdmin 5.2.1
Not compatible with PHP 8.0.26

I am wondering if anyone has noticed this as well, and whether it is something that may cause problems down the line.

I am semi-retired from a 33-year full-time career in Tech but build and manage websites part-time.
From my experience in the business, I know that when you see a message that says Software A (version n) is not compatible with Software B (version m) , it could mean different things:

1) We tested A with B and it fails, and:
- we may or may not have tried to determine why
2) We have NEVER tested A with B, so:
- it may work fine, but we call them incompatible until they are officially tested together.


This is not an urgent issue, but I thought I'd post it as means to say "hello" as well as query your experience with PHPMyAdmin 5.2.1.

4) PHP: 5,7,& 8 (as installed by 3.3.0)
5) MySQL 5 & 8 (disabled)

6) Wampserver status: Green

a. 127.0.0.1 localhost
b. ::1 localhost
8) Homepage is working:
a. No errors currently.
9) PhpMyAdmin is working:
a. Installed version 5.2.1 by recommendation post-Wampserver-3.3.0 install
10) Error messages:
a. PhpMyAdmin: Not compatible with PHP 8.0.26 according to Wampserver homepage
b. I’ve had no issues – but I am a novice user of PHP and MariaDB (outside of WordPress)
11) AV and Firewall:
a. Standard issues and configuration with Windows 10-22H2
12) Wampserver path
a. C:\wamp64
13) No virtual hosts:

Go to Wampserver install and addons site in my signature and install PhpMyAdmin version you need.
See Right-Click -> Help -> PhpMyAdmin. and MySQL-MariaDB
