Localhost problems

when i try and veiw my site via localhost it does not display pages, just takes a long time and says "done" to get round this i have used a proxy to access my modems external ip(as if i do not use a proxy it comes up with mmy router config) please help

i have got it working on my laptop but am still having the same problem on my pc. please help
