WampServer

Hi,

My Server is Windows Server 2019.

I have installed wampserver 3.2.6 and configured all (Apache,PHP,MySQL) required settings for my website.

I have ApacheVersion 2.4.51when I installed. Now, I want to upgrade Apache version to 2.4.53

To do that, I followed the steps from the webpage "[wampserver.aviatechno.net"];

First, I stopped all the services to run the wampserver 3.2.8 update exe and did Apache 2.4.53 exe.

After I restarted all the wamp services and waited for green icon on traymenu to point Apache to its new version 2.4.53.

But,

1) Wamp Service- Tray menu" not showing the version to 3.2.8-

2) I also can not see Apache New Version 2.4.53 when I try to select.


is it the right process that I am following to install the upgrades(WAMP 3.2.8 & Apache 2.4.53) on existing wamp server 3.2.6 installation?


Please guide me the best approach.

You don't have to stop the services manually, everything is done automatically by the update.

- 1 - Stop Wampserver.

- 2 - Verify that all VC ++ packages are installed and with the latest versions.
To do this, use the tool:
Checks VC++ packages installed
Do not use a previously loaded tool. Make a new download to make sure you are using the correct version.
To download missing packages, do not rely on Microsoft links, they are not reliable, download packages on http://wampserver.aviatechno.net in section Visual C++ Redistribuable Packages
Do not forget that if you have a 64 bit Windows, you must install both 32 and 64 bit versions of each package.
You must install each package "as an administrator", so right-click the exe file and then run as Administrator.

- 3- Apply Update 3.2.8 to your version of Wampserver even if already done.
Wampserver update 3.2.8

- 4 - Launch Wampserver, the icon may not turn green.

- 5 - Right-Click -> Restart from scratch

Yes !

If you go to https://wampserver.aviatechno.net/ what can you read about the 3.2.8 update?

Updates only "Wampmanager", does not add any Apache PHP, MySQL or MariaDB versions. It is a cumulative update. It is not necessary to apply the old updates 3.0.1 to 3.2.7 before applying 3.2.8. There will be no changes to your Apache, PHP, MySQL, MariaDB settings and versions used; your local sites and databases will not be affected. This update is necessary to install the latest Apache, PHP, MySQL or MariaDB addons.

Hi,


I followed the instructions in the reply message and installed on the existing wamp server 3.2.6 installation.

1) stopped the wamp server 3.2.6

2) installed all VC packages as an administrator

3) installed wamp server 3.2.8 update - as an adminstrator

4) installed apache 2.4.53 addon - as an adminstrator

5) Lauched wamp server -as an administrator. It started and the icon turned green. But, wamp server still showing the 3.2.6 on Tray Icon.

6) Restarted All Services. But, Apache is not showing the 2.4.53 version.


Am I missing anything here?

WOW. Its working. Thank you for bringing this mistake to my attention.

Now, I can see wamp server version as 3.2.8 and Apache 2.4.53

one more question:

One of the members from the other team setup a website earlier with wamp 3.2.6. But, I can't see its webpage when I open local host from the browser. It is showing wamp 3.28 webpage not actual website page. I can see old website folder under projects section that are in "WWW" folder which are configured to wamp 3.2.6

Am I need to make any changes ? Please guide me. - Thank you.

The local sites must be declared as VirtualHost, as with all hosting companies.
Then you "open" the site with 'http://mysite1/' or 'http://mysite2/'.
