Been 'playing' with passwords in MySQL and everything seems to work, i can login to the mysql consol, i can view the databases, what I can't do is actually start the service. The password is still the default of ' '. HELP!

Hello friends,

Posting after a long time as wamp is working very fine at my pc. But while I have installed the same file at my home its not starting mySQL there. I have installed it at one of my friends place also to check but its not working there also.

It says 1 or 2 services running. And when i check from the Quick Icon the mySQL is not running there. Even I can't stop, start or restart it from there.

In Services also it says Wampmysql is stopped and I am unable to start it.

Do i need to uninstall and install it again or i have to do some change some where.

Pls guys help me out.

do you have any other versions of mysql running, or any other type of database server (oracle, mssql, firebird, postgresql, etc)? make sure your firewall is not blocking mysql too,.
