Changed Mysql version, database did not follow

Is there any way to use the same database files when changing MySql versions, or must the database be reloaded into each version?

Never mind I need to RTFM
Important Reminder: The transfer of databases between different versions of MySQL or MariaDB should be performed by EXPORT / IMPORT of SQL files using phpMyAdmin or a similiar tools of your choice.
