when one of vc++ redistributables is installed ,
it asks ,
would u use php5 ,
yes or nu ? ,
php7 will be used on wamp server !

You are not alone on earth!
Wampserver can use PHP from version 5.3.5 (32bit) or 5.3.28 (64bit) to PHP 8.1.0 beta 2 (with Wampserver 3.2.6)
