WampServer

Installed wampserver3.2.3 . All my databases appear and work correctly when I select mysql version 5.7.14 . If I switch to version 8.0.21 the databases disappear (although their names remain), and the web pages cannot connect.

Is that normal?

Can I upgrade the mysql version for my current databases from 5.7 to 8.0?

To be more specific: when I switch to mysql 8.0.21, then in phpMyAdmin all of the databases are still listed on the left side but there are red error messages saying "no database selected". If I refresh the page, the databases are no longer listed. If I try to import a database from my backup, I get "no database selected".

Figured it out. You have to first add each database back as a "new" database and only then import the backup for each one.

I think the answer shoudl be 42 actually.

The only way to do this is to Backup the databases in the version they exist in. Then restore them into the newly installed version.

Not rocket science, just EXPOST and IMPORT using phpMyAdmin
