VScode is not the most suitable for the procedure I gave you.
Use a text editor, like Notepad++ and not a gas factory just to edit php or Apache configuration files.

On the one hand, we provide you - free of charge - with a WEB server, Apache, PHP, MySQL which, in 99,9 % of the cases is totally functional after the installation (The 0.1% of non functioning are due to the non respect of the procedures by the users), that is being professional.
On the other hand, we don't owe you anything and I think we are extremely nice to give you a fully functional procedure.
It is your boss who is unprofessional to want you to do things that are not in your competence. It's up to him to hire and pay for the skills, not to want to do everything for a penny.
