WampServer

I've set up a wordpress on my wampserver, but health checks revealed it was using http, not https. My boss is going to require https, so I'm trying to get ahead of him by implementing it before the project review. I've done some googling, and came up with a guide that really makes little sense to me, [www.smashingmagazine.com]

Why would I need a key pair for my localhost? Do I really need to install OpenSSL? Am I in over my head on this networking stuff? I'm a certified Cloud Practioner with AWS, but this seems rather advanced for me. Help!

Well if you cannot follow the tutorial, there is little we can do. Maybe you should be honest and get some help from someone in you r organisation that does understand a bit about this already

we cannot help remotely. If you do not have the ability or confidence to try the process described fairly maticulously in the linked post, what more can we do.

I remind you, if you screw it all up, you can just uninstall WAMPServer and reinstall it and try again. Thats what WAMPServer is here for. It a learning tool.


Can I also remind you that support for WAMPServer that you paid the VAST SUM OF F'ALL FOR is done by a couple of people that are NOT paid for there time or luckily in my case their Professionalism

VScode is not the most suitable for the procedure I gave you.
Use a text editor, like Notepad++ and not a gas factory just to edit php or Apache configuration files.

On the one hand, we provide you - free of charge - with a WEB server, Apache, PHP, MySQL which, in 99,9 % of the cases is totally functional after the installation (The 0.1% of non functioning are due to the non respect of the procedures by the users), that is being professional.
On the other hand, we don't owe you anything and I think we are extremely nice to give you a fully functional procedure.
It is your boss who is unprofessional to want you to do things that are not in your competence. It's up to him to hire and pay for the skills, not to want to do everything for a penny.

We absolutely do not want to be compensated in any way for the help we give.
We only do it for fun and to be compensated would make it a strain and that is out of the question.
The answers and procedures that we give are primarily for our own needs and we give them to others. It is out of the question to be forced to respond to a request.

With Wampserver, you have installed a web server, a database server, PHP language and SQL queries.
Congratulations, this means that you are now supposed to be:

- Network Administrator
- Web Server Administrator
- Database Administrator
- Developer
- Analyst
- Programmer.
- Hosting
- and the like

All of these roles normally occupy at least one person per area. These people are expected to know what they are doing before they start.

WAMPServer is primarily a LEARNING TOOL, so that people can learn and try to take control of one or more of these jobs.

However, the skills needed to use it correctly do not acquire themselves, and are not part of the Wampserver box.
