XML socket connections

Hi guys/gals, I am totally ignorant about servers and the like but im doing
by best to learn and need your help. I am currently using WAMP with AMFPHP
in order to be able to access databases from flash, my question is
regarding sockets. I would like to build a chat application with flash
using an XMLsocket connection. I this possible with WAMP, is this
functionality build into WAMP? any information would be helpful, including
any book recommendation conserning setting up servers for such services. I
am only interested in running this locally at the moment. Thanks in
advance.
