To whom it may concern:
Is it still ok to employ wamp server 32 bit with win os 64 bit? I do remember wamp server 64 bit used to be in some sort of test and examination process that is why based on the advice of this forum I employed wamp 32 bit on win 7 ulitmate 64 bit. Now with win 10 pro 64 bit, wamp 64 bit or 32 bit?

Hi,

That was in prehistoric 64-bit Wampserver.

With Windows 10 and the latest versions of Apache, PHP, MariaDB and MySQL in 64 bit, on a Windows 10 64 bit, it is preferable to install Wampserver 64 bit, although Wampserver 32 bit works perfectly.

To avoid searching, before installing Wampserver there are some prerequisites to be done :

- Verify that all VC ++ packages are installed and with the latest versions.
To do this, use the tool:
Checks VC++ packages installed
Do not use a previously loaded tool. Make a new download to make sure you are using the correct version.
To download missing packages, do not rely on Microsoft links, they are not reliable, download packages on http://wampserver.aviatechno.net in section Visual C++ Redistribuable Packages
Do not forget that if you have a 64 bit Windows, you must install both 32 and 64 bit versions of each package.
You must install each package "as an administrator", so right-click the exe file and then run as Administrator.
