Hosts files too long

My WAMP icon remains stubbornly red. When I go into systems tray (windows 10, 64 bit)) I get the message that all applications are running, but there is an error message:
"The C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts file has 15616 lines" i.e. too long.

Hello,
The hosts file is not intended to filter unwanted urls, but it is not the fact of having many lines in this file that makes the Wampmanager icon not green.
There is another problem on your system.
- 1 - Please READ (and answer) BEFORE YOU ASK A QUESTION
- 2 - To determine where your problem may come from, use the tools integrated into Wampserver by Right-click -> Tools. For example:
- Check the status of services
- Test port 80

Thank you for drawing my attention to tools. I am totally green ....
The problem appears to be with Port 3308. I have tried Ports 3307 and 3308; and also inverted with 3306 to no avail. The message I receive on testing is

127.0.0.1 localhost ::1 localhostat least before the addition of a VirtualHost required to install a CMS like WordPress.
Everything seems to work fine, except for the hosts file.
In the end, I wonder what your problem is.

Spybot has put more than five thousand lines in the hosts file. All this to block so-called dangerous sites. You have no idea what the blocked sites are and, among this list there are sites that have no reason to be blocked and for which you will ask yourself the question "Why I can't go to this site".
The purpose of the hosts file is not to filter so-called unwanted urls, to do this use your browser settings or install extensions to block ads and other unwanted content.
Spybot is what I call, in French, a "inutilitaire", i. e. a useless utility that, like all the supposed "Windows Cleaners" or "Windows Accelerators" do much more harm and damage than the good they are supposed to do.
The best anti-all is the interface between the chair and the keyboard.
Yes, you can leave these lines... but the two localhost lines must be at the beginning.
I would uninstall SpyBot purely and simply and totally.
