WampServer

The wampmanager.conf has a setting for editor. This is fine for ini, conf or other configuration files. For Log files it would be more helpful to have a file viewer that follows changes to the file (tail.exe /v access.log).

Add a setting viewer to the wampnanager.conf and use this programm vor all log files

All the tools exist to empty the logs before launching a PHP script or a web application.
This way, you will only see what is related to the script or web application.

As they say in my country, "only fools don't change their minds".

With Wampserver 3.2.0, so with update 3.2.0, there will be an item “ logviewer ="xxxx" ” in the wampmanager.conf file that will default to the same value as editor="xxxx".
It will be up to the user to change the path.
