Is it possible to upgrade PHP version in Wamp 2.5?

Windows8 64 bit

I have Wamp 2.5, which seems to be the only version, I can use for my TNG program. Now I would like to add two blogs in WordPress, but I get the message that they need to have PHP 5.6.40. Is it possible to upgrade to this version and still keep Wamp2.5?

Would you please help me choose the right version? I have Window 8, 64 bit, so would it be


1. php-devel-pack-5.6.40-Win32-VC11-x64.zip

or this

2. php-devel-pack-5.6.5-Win32-VC11-x86.zip

These versions are on the archives page.


In the manual it says to choose vc9 or vc11, so as I see it, I can't choose any of the 7xxxx versions.

But maybe I should choose the higher version 5.6.9, if WordPress later requires higher than 5.6.40.
