database: new_wp
username: root
password:
database server: localhost
prefix table: wp_

it just keeps giving me error estabilishing connection with database. I tryed to setup wp-confing.php manualy and still does the same. All guides are using MySql, but i cant setup so i used MariaDB that i can.

Any tips, any advice on what am i doing wrong?

Best Regards,

Pedro

If you are using mariaDB then unless you changed the WAMPServer config it runs on port 3307 and not 3306.

You may need to change that in your WordPress config and maybe also in the php.ini

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(Windows 10 Pro 64bit) (Wampserver 3.1.8 32bit & 64bit)
<Apache versions MULTIPE> <PHP versions MULTIPLE> <MySQL Versions MULTIPLE>
<MariaDB versions MULTIPLE> <phpMyAdmin versions MULTIPLE> <MySQL Workbench 8.0.16>

Read The Manuals Apache -- MySQL -- PHP -- phpMyAdmin
Get your Apache/MySQL/mariaDB/PHP ADDONs here from the WAMPServer alternate Repo

***** Test which uses port 3307 *****

===== Tested by command netstat filtered on port 3307 =====

Test for TCP
Your port 3307 is used by a processus with PID = 6884
The processus of PID 6884 is 'mysqld.exe' Session: Services
The service of PID 6884 for 'mysqld.exe' is 'wampmariadb64'
This service is from Wampserver - It is correct

Test for TCPv6
Your port 3307 is used by a processus with PID = 6884
The processus of PID 6884 is 'mysqld.exe' Session: Services
The service of PID 6884 for 'mysqld.exe' is 'wampmariadb64'

Hi,

The 3307 port test has no impact on your problem. We know that port 3307 works correctly for MariaDB, otherwise the service would not start and the Wampmanager icon would not be green.

If you cannot add port number 3307 in the Wordpress database connection procedure, it will not work.

That's why I tell you to read the document "how to use MariaDB" where you should have seen that there is a possibility to set MariaDB as the default database manager, in which case port 3306 will be used and since it's the default port, there's no need to specify it in the connection procedure.

Wampserver 3.1.9 32 bit - Apache 2.4.39 - PHP 7.3.6/7.2.19/7.1.30/7.0.33/5.6.40 - MySQL 5.7.26 - MariaDB 10.3.15
Wampserver 3.1.9 64 bit - Apache 2.4.39 - PHP 7.3.6/7.2.19/7.1.30/7.0.33/5.6.40 - MySQL 5.7.26/8.0.16 - MariaDB 10.3.15
PhPMyadmin 4.9.0.1 - MysqlDumper 1.24.5
on W10 and W7 Pro 64 bit

But thats just the thing i only have mariadb installed, i sure its connect i can acess everything i just cant go throw the wordpress connection to the database, to configure the wp-config.php. Auto or manualy it just won't connect, and im sure im filling all the spaces right. I read the how to use mariadb and did all the steps to setup properly, but it still won't connect, i even did a virtualhost into the wordpress files to see if i can go directly there, but still same error. Just wont make the wp-config.php.

Im sorry if i seem a little dense, but htis is my 4th day searching and doing guides all over the place. i installed and unnistalled everything 6 times by now, so if i sound a little frustraded i'm sorry...

thanks for all the help

Hi,

Change the port 3307 used by MariaDB by the default port 3306 :

Right-Click -> Tools -> Use a port other than 3307 then choose 3306

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Wampserver 3.1.9 32 bit - Apache 2.4.39 - PHP 7.3.6/7.2.19/7.1.30/7.0.33/5.6.40 - MySQL 5.7.26 - MariaDB 10.3.15
Wampserver 3.1.9 64 bit - Apache 2.4.39 - PHP 7.3.6/7.2.19/7.1.30/7.0.33/5.6.40 - MySQL 5.7.26/8.0.16 - MariaDB 10.3.15
PhPMyadmin 4.9.0.1 - MysqlDumper 1.24.5
on W10 and W7 Pro 64 bit
Documentation Apache - Documentation PHP - Documentation MySQL - Wampserver install files & addons

Done it, now keeps droping my wamp server to orange over and over again, since he was green all the time.

Well forget it, i will try something else, 5 days counting today is my limit to try all combos and choices.

Thank you all for the help
