I want to password protect a folder with htaccess but it works only if I use a file like this password.txt and a plain text password " user1: goodpassword "

If I use an encryped password it will not work ...did you know why?

I know that wamp is not secure ...etc...etc...I just want to use this in a lan ( to show to someone how it will work )
