WampServer

Hi there,

I would like to update a WAMPSERVER 2.4 installation, but all the available updates start from version 2.5.

In the "WAMPServer 3 All you need to know" there is a mention to version 2.4 in the Visual C++ Packages section, but it is not clear to me if the cumulative update will work.

Alternatively, is there an update from 2.4 to 2.5 I could apply first?

I looked at "Install a new release of Wampserver", but only the title reports "Wampserver 2.x", which would include 2.4, while the body only refers to version 2.5.
For this reason I am not sure and I am asking for advice.

Just because it says 2.5 doesn't mean it only applies to version 2.5.
By reading the procedure carefully, you can understand that it can even apply to a server other than Wampserver.
You say you have found an update 2.4 to 2.5, but I don't know the reliability of it at all.

The most reliable and durable way for both your local sites and databases is to apply the procedure explained in: Install a new release of Wampserver

I did not find any update from 2.4 to 2.5: I was asking if there was one

the procedure described in "Installing a new release of WAMPServer" suggested in "WAMPServer 3 All you need to know" does not work for WAMPServer 2.4.

The installation gives the following error "The installation folder chosen is not that of WAMPServer version 2.5".

Any suggestion?

I wrote about Install a new release of Wampserver not about WAMPServer 3 All you need to know.

There is no upgrade from 2.4 to 3.x and there will never be one.

You must follow the procedure indicated:
- Export your databases as SQL files
- Stop services and uninstall them
- Exit Wampserver 2.4
- Rename the folder
- etc.
