Hi, i'm currently doing my school's final year project and i need some help.
I'm suppose to import the previous student's work and make improvements to it.
(Making improvements is my "job".)

I've been researching about WAMP and playing around with it but i can't seem to find a way to import a whole server // database.

Also can someone please link me to some basics on WAMP etc.
(new to WAMP / PHP / SQL projects) (Literally know nothing at all)

Also is there a difference between previous versions and the latest ones cause i wasn't even told which version the previous handler was running on.

Hi Inuke.

WAMPServer is Apache / MySQL/ mariaDB / PHP and all these are documented by the people that write and maintain those things.
WAMPServer is basically just a mashup of those technologies.

Importing another project is basically just a case of:

1. Import the other database to MySQL
2. Copy the site files to a folder below \wamp64\www
3. amend any site config files so the app see's the database

I would suggest setting up a Virtual Host to place the site fies in, but basically what you do to get it running after doing the 3 points above depends upon the site you are importing.

Hello! Thanks for your reply, really grateful!

I've done "importing"most of the project!

I am told the project i was given shouldn't have errors and was tested by the previous student's "examiner."

Though currently some scripts will come up errors/notice/warnings when i try to "run"them, is it possible that it is because i'm running on a different version?

Hi,

It may be that but without knowing anything about the site or the errors it is hard to be more specific than that.

Hi,

As RiggsFolly writes, if you do not understand errors or warnings, we, in principle, are able to understand them.
But to understand them, you would still have to give us the exact and complete wording.
