In the help it says

""After installation, you can directly start using your server. You should first change MySQL's root default password. ""

I go to the MySQL console to change the password and it ask for me for a PASSWORD so what do I enter, what is the default????

Thanks in advance...

Its a Shame it Wont ask for one in setup process

When you use my.ini to set the password for the 'root' user MYSQL dies
and Wmpserver cant load it and when you remove the mod lines for a password to wamp my.ini the MySQL process wont start

Then you have to reinstall

do not add your password to my.ini. you can add a password to the root account using the privliges setting in phpmyadmin.

"you can add a password to the root account using the privliges setting in phpmyadmin."

You have step by step instructions for doing this last time I tired I ended up with no privileges and could not fix or undo it.
