MySql not connecting

Hi I am a newbie, just installed the latest version of WAMP, I installed it on my partitioned hard-drive (drive d:\) instead of the starndard C:\.

The php side of things seem to work ok, I was testing some sample code which connects to MySql, but I simply can't connect. the sql file is located in the documentroot, same as the php files.

Is there something I am doing wrong, I just want to see the sql run on my local machine.. or maybe some has a very simple basic code that I can test php/mysql with?.

Thanks in advance

try checking to see it phpmyadmin works, if you can access it and it works, everything is ok. Make sure 2 services apache and mysql are running in the WAMP tray icon.

Yeah that works fine, but I am not able to run other sql files with ph could it be that I am placing them in the wrong folder..

I just want to run my own simple php/mysql, to get a grasp of how things work...
