Hi people I´m from Cuba, I install wamp for the first time on my computer and my localhost page doesn´t display. When I go to the wamp system tray icon down in the right and click on the localhost page an error appears
then I change the address in the browser to [127.0.0.1] and everything is ok.
for example [localhost] doesn´t work but when I change the address to [127.0.0.1] yes everything it´s ok.
can anyone help me please?

127.0.0.1 is the ip address for localhost. so, using [localhost] and [127.0.0.1] acces the same location. why one does not work is weird. check your hosts file and make sure localhost is not being redirected somewhere else.

Thanks for helping me CyberSpatium.
Where is located this file? Is this the name of the file?
When I find it what do I have to do?
I know that localhost and 127.0.0.1 is the same so I don´t understand what happen here.
Thanks again.

Hosts file is here
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

Make sure you hosts file has an entry like this:
127.0.0.1 localhost

If not, add it to the bottom of the file.

I don´t know what to do.

Hi I'm from Nigeria. I get the same message too and 127.0.0.1 localhost is in my hosts file. Thing is using the loopback address is usually more hectic. So I understand Reyyan' plight. However, Reyyan, the server still works well over the network and other computers can connect with ease, just use the computer name or the I.P. address. of the host machine.

I wouldn't mind a solution to this problem too if anyone else has ideas that could help please share.
