How to make phpmyadmin secure?

Hi everyone!

I'm a newbie with regards this WAMP5 server software suite.

After I installed (today) my downloaded WAMP5, I changed the root password of mySQL from blank (none) to my own password. I edited the phpmyadmin config file and inserted my password so that no error will occur. It works fine but anyone who can access my phphmyadmin page will be able to access my database since when the home page is loaded the root user has already logged in. Is there any way to make the start page of phpmyadmin to prompt the user for a username and password before he can access the mySQL database?

Thank you very much in advance.

open up your phpmyadmin folder, and find a file called Documentation.html. This file tells what each setting in the phpmyadmin config folder means, it also has a section on how to setup secure authentication.
