WampServer

hi,

I installed WAMPP but it fail to install properly. it is showing orange and indicates that one program is running in the hidden icon. then I try to uninstall it but it refuse to leave the local disc. it say "the action can not be completed because the folder or file is open in another program. close the folder and try again". several attempt still can not unstill it.

please what will I do? if I want to reinstall it if it can not be uninstalled

I'm no expert, but I'll have a shot at this anyway.

If WAMP appears to be installed but is showing Orange (to the bottom right corner, near your clock), then I believe it means the servers are running but there is another issue, most like related to the ports being used. If this is the case, try the following:

- Right click over WAMP (the orange 'W') > Select Tools > Test Port 80
- Then Test Port 3306

If there is an issue, try a different Port, such as 8080 or 8888, or something around the 8000 mark

Try this:
Right click the Wampserver icon >> Exit.

Now try uninstalling the program. Also check to see if there are any leftover files/folders and delete them. When all is clear, double check to see that you have the correct VC++ packages installed, then re-install Wampserver plus all of the latest updates.
