WordPress tries to load https on restore from backup

Hello,

Sometimes when I restore a WordPress backup to my localhost WAMP everything goes fine until the SQL rename of the url has occurred. then when I try to browse to the site I get an error saying firewall issues etc. When really whats going on is that its trying to browser to https.

I have set up a Virtual Host for my C2C site. and using the BackupBuddy installer, Importbuddy I'm able to browse to [c2c] and complete the installation.

When I try to browse to c2c it instead tries to browse to [c2c]

Does anyone know why? and what I can do about this?

Thank you.

John.

Are you using Chrome?
If so does the issue happen with Firefox?

Hello @RiggsFolly,

Yes it does. I can perform the entire install using Chrome then try to browse to the path (http://c2c) using Firefox and it does exactly the same thing.

I thought the routing might have changed. when I check my hosts file in Windows it looks the same:

127.0.0.1 c2c
::1 c2c

Hello RiggsFolly,

1 - Windows version: Windows 10 Home 64 bit OS
2 - Version WampServer: Wampserver 3.1.0 64bit
3 - Apache Version: 2.4.27
4 - PHP Version: 7.0.23
5 - MySQL Version: 5.7.19
5a - MariaDB version: 10.2.8 (not used)
6 - What color is the WampServer icon: Green.

7 - In the file c:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts, what are the active lines?
The active lines in my host file are:
127.0.0.1 localhost
127.0.0.1 c2c
::1 c2c

8 - Do you have access to localhost (Homepage WampServer)? Yes I do and can see and access other WP sites I've installed from scratch.

8a - If so, is there an error message at the bottom of the page? No errors but a warning telling me I shouldn't have changed the PHP of localhost to open my projects directly without a Virtual Host.

9 - Do you have access to phpMyAdmin? Yes I do and use it and/or Adminer to set up new db's and set privileges.

10 - If you refer to an error message, please include the EXACT wording of the error in your post: I can't see any error messages. WAMP is functioning well.

11 - If you use an Antivirus and / or Firewall, please include the names of these: I use Windows Firewall and Trend Micro Security

12 - What is the full path to the installation of WampServer (eg D:\wamp\): E:\wamp64

13 - If you have one or more Virtual Hosts defined, please show their definition(s)
ServerName : localhost - Directory : e:/wamp64/www
ServerName : c2c - Directory : e:/wamp64/www/c2c
