[BUG] Updating MySQL version (WAMP 3.1.1)

Hey guys,

just noticed a little bug on the current version 3.1.1.

After installing the MySQL update to 5.7.20 (from 5.7.19)
and removing the old version of it, the CLI app could not
remove the whole version, even if it was offline.

[abload.de]

Removing the old files after can only be done manually.

--

Second issue is that the script did not update the service
and it's new path to the updated MySQL binary file.

[abload.de]

(It should be the folder ..\mysql\mysql5.7.20\ not [...]5.7.19)

This will cause WAMP to not be able to start the MySQL server again.

--

For all users may have this bug, too it can be solved by removing the
MySQL service and installing it after again. The path got corrected now.

Thanks in advice

FakE

Hi,

The procedure (Script PHP) to remove an unused version has not been changed since version 3.0.7.

Permission denied with the PHP unlink function may imply that update 3.1.1 has not been installed "as an administrator".

You should reinstall update 3.1.1, but as an administrator. Right-click on the file "wampserver3_x86_x64_update3.1.1. exe" then Run as administrator.
