I have just downloaded wamp5_1.6.1 to start learning, but as soon as i have gone to the sqlcommand it is asking for a password WHAT IS IT or how do i get around it.

by default user is 'root' with no password
if nothing is changed you just have to press 'enter' on password prompt

Hi, Using PHPmyadmin is change and put new password for root, then is came out "#1045 - Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: NO)". My question is how to reset password for root?

you need to set your MySQL password in your phpmyadmin config file. go into your phpmyadmin folder, and find the file called config.inc.php. Find this line:

$cfg['Servers'][$i]['password'] = '';

Change it to:

$cfg['Servers'][$i]['password'] = 'YourPasswordHere';

Save the file, and you will now be able to use phpmyadmin.
