PERL add-on; Can't run ppm

Hi

I've just installed the PERL add-on for WAMP5;
I'm now trying to run ppm from the DOS prompt to install the DBI module and DBD-mysql driver. But i keep getting the following error

Bad name after privlibexp' at C:/wamp/perl/lib/Config.pm line 1219.
Compilation failed in require at C:/wamp/perl/lib/DynaLoader.pm line 25.
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at C:/wamp/perl/lib/DynaLoader.pm line 25.
Compilation failed in require at C:/wamp/perl/site/lib/Win32API/Registry.pm line
10.
Compilation failed in require at C:/wamp/perl/site/lib/Win32/TieRegistry.pm line
26.
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at C:/wamp/perl/site/lib/Win32/TieRegistry.pm
line 26.
Compilation failed in require at ppm.bat line 15.
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at ppm.bat line 15.

Anyone has an idea of what I'm doing wrong? I'm quite new to perl and mysql but I 'd previuosly used the standard installation of ActivePERL and I never got this error. It came up only after I tried the add-on.
Any hint would be really appreciated. Thanks
