I am going to attempt to add php 7.1.9 to my current installation of WAMP. My current version of Wamp 3.0.6 and it is 64 bit. Do I need to install the Wampserver update 3.1.0 before adding the newer version of PHP 7.1.9? Also is there any other component I need to update such as Apache, MySQL?

Hi,

To avoid possible problems, please proceed in the following order:

- Verify that all VC ++ packages are installed and with the latest versions.
To do this, use the tool:
Checks VC++ packages installed
And you will find all the packages on [wampserver.aviatechno.net] in section Visual C++ Redistribuable Packages
Do not forget that if you have a 64 bit Windows, you must install both 32 and 64 bit versions of each package.
You must install each package "as an administrator", so right-click the exe file and then run as Administrator.

After the tool tells you that all the necessary packages for Wampserver are installed,
- Apply Update 3.1.0 to your version of Wampserver
Wampserver update 3.1.0

- Install PHP 7.1.9 64 bit addon

Do not forget that the executables of the update and the addon must also be launched as an administrator.
