wamp icon red

I Installed wampserver but can not make it work. The icon stays red.

I followed all the trouble shooting tips, but that didn't help.

I installed wampserver before on my lap (windows 7) without any trouble.

What can I do to fix this problem?

Thanks!

Ok,

Assuming you have all the required MSVC Runtimes installed? DO YOU??

These lines

`no listening sockets available, shutting down` and
`listen() on TCP/IP failed with error 0`

makes me thing that maybe you have something else using TCP Port 80 and TCP port 3306

Do you have another Apache and MySQL running? Maybe you tried installing Apache and MySQL manually and did not properly uninstall them before trying WAMPServer.

Another reaosn for port 80 issues could be IIS and/or SKYPE, do you have either of these installed?

There is no other Apache nor MySQL running.

I deinstalled skype and all boxes in ISS unchecked

test port 80 and 3306 :

***** Test which uses port 80 *****

===== Tested by command netstat filtered on port 80 =====

Port 80 is not found associated with TCP protocol

Test for TCPv6
Port 80 is not found associated with TCP protocol

===== Tested by attempting to open a socket on port 80 =====

Your port 80 is not actually used.

***** Test which uses port 3306 *****

===== Tested by command netstat filtered on port 3306 =====

Port 3306 is not found associated with TCP protocol

test port 8080 and 3307 :

***** Test which uses port 8080 *****

Port 8080 is not found associated with TCP protocol

How can I see if something else is using TCP Port 80 and TCP port 3306 ?

I tried to use port 8080 and 3307 but this gave the same results

Did you install ALL the MSVC runtimes that I suggested at the beginning of this topic?

If not you will have to do so.

If you installed WAMPServer, before installing ALL the runtimes, then you will have to uninstall WAMPServer, and then re-install it AFTER all the runtimes are installed.

I refreshed all the MSVC runtimes and now icon turned green.

Thanks for your help!
